# Models

> Choose and switch the AI model used by Aixcut.

Aixcut provides its own models and other mainstream models. Models can differ in speed, quality, and the tasks they handle best. Choose based on the work you need to do, and switch models whenever needed.

## Choose a model from the home page

1. Open the Aixcut home page.
2. Describe what you want to edit in the center input.
3. Select the current model shown below the input.
4. Choose a model from the expanded list before you start creating.

## Choose a model in a project

1. Open a project.
2. In the Aix assistant dialog on the right, select the current model name in the lower-right corner.
3. Select a model from the model panel.

The dialog also provides controls for the model's thinking capability and AI permissions.

The manual's model comparison is presented as an image and may change as models are updated. Use the descriptions shown in the current model panel when choosing a model.
